If you double click on PDF file in Total Commander and your PDF is not opening but you see AcrobatReader.exe is running in your Task manager you can do this to solve this error:

• Open Adobe Reader
• Navigate to Edit menu / Preferences
• Chose Security Enhances.
• Disable the Protected mode.
